Sustainability policy

At Mr Fruity Wholesale we recognise our responsibility to minimise our environmental impact. As a company we are reducing our carbon footprint and managing our waste in the most effective way.

Key points of our Sustainability Strategy:

  • Minimise waste by regularly evaluating operations, and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
  • Actively promote recycling both internally, and amongst our customers and suppliers.
  • Source and promote a product range to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution.
  • Reduce our carbon footprint and fuel emission.

Current measures in place in our Strategy:

  • We recycle as much material as we can, throughout the company.
  • We actively recover used cardboard and cooking oils from our customers, and all paper in the office is re-used or recycled.
  • All our food waste goes to local farmers as pig or cow feed, including anything applicable waste produced by staff.
  • Local companies are used wherever possible. Packaging of all on-site produce is kept to a minimum, and we pack orders with no plastic where possible.
  • LED lighting installed in our warehouse and preparation areas.
  • Our delivery routes are designed to reach customers as efficiently as possible to reduce emissions and reduce fuel consumption.

Future Aims of our Green Strategy:

  • Continue to install LED lighting and energy efficient appliances across the site where possible.
  • To install solar panels
  • Aim to reduce our waste going to landfill each year by continuing to recycle as much as we can.
  • Continue to support our customers and community in reducing waste and promote sustainability.

Waste and Carbon Report - 2024

Across our warehouse, prep room, and office we have produced 9.7 tonnes of waste as a company between July and the end of 2024.

100% diverted from landfill

All of our waste these last 6 months has been diverted from landfill. We sort everything into paper, mixed recycling, and food waste to make sure it is properly disposed of.

1,262 kg of C02 saved

This is the equivalent (C02e) of 4 trees planted, or one house powered.

77.95% has been recycled

over 3/4 of our waste has been recycled - we try to recycle everything that we can, including more difficult items, by sorting between different types of recycling bins.

Hygiene and Safety

As well as working towards becoming a more sustainable, greener company, we also work hard as a company to ensure a clean and safe environment for both our customers, and our staff.

We have consistently earned the highest food hygiene rating, showcasing our dedication to high standards when handling your food.
